Boning is poking through the fabric and creating a ridge across the chest
Reach inside the garment at the top edge and press the top of each boning channel flat against your body with your thumb. Then use a safety pin through the lining only (not the outer fabric) to pin the top of each boning channel to the lining — this anchors the boning so it can't roll forward. Three safety pins across the front panel will hold for a full evening.

Adhesive bra cup peeling away from skin mid-evening
Skin oil breaks down the adhesive. Press the cup flat against the skin and hold with firm pressure for 30 seconds without moving — the warmth of your hand re-activates the adhesive. If you have translucent or setting powder, dust the skin lightly before re-pressing: powder absorbs the surface oil that is causing the peel and gives the adhesive a clean surface to grip again.

Look feels costume-y or like Western fancy dress with the hat on
Remove the hat. Look at the rest of the outfit — the grey corset dress and silver bracelet alone is a strong, complete evening look. The hat works best in movement or in a social, energetic environment; if you are in a seated or formal moment, hold the hat in your hand or hook it on a bag. Wearing it selectively rather than all night actually reads as more intentional, not less confident.

Dress fabric has wrinkled badly in transit or storage
Hang the dress in a closed bathroom with the hottest shower running for 8 minutes. The steam releases 80–90% of polyester and light fabric wrinkles without a steamer. Do not touch the fabric while it is damp — hang for another 5 minutes after the steam session before putting it on. Putting it on while damp will stretch it and create new creases at the body's pressure points.

The lace-up bow keeps coming undone during the evening
Tie the bow as normal, then tie a second overhand knot through the bow loops — this is a surgeon's knot and will not loosen with movement. Alternatively, tie the bow and tuck both loops inside the dress between the lacing and your body, securing with a single safety pin through both loops. Invisible from outside, holds all night.
